Timers - Application Notes

DELAY ON OPERATE

Staggering the starting of two or more motors. Thus preventing them coming on line at the same time. e.g. compressors, air conditioning units, pumps etc.

Example: Showing staggered motor starting of 2 motors.

RECYCLING (ASYMMETRICAL)
Allows an operation to be carried out at  certain time intervals on a continuous (repeat operation) basis.
e.g. Lubrication systems, opening/closing of valves etc.

Example: Showing a repeative Lubrication process.

STAR  DELTA  START
Used as a safety precaution to prevent the Star and Delta contactors being energised simultaneously after initial three phase motor start up.

Example: Using an M1EYD Timer

TRUE DELAY OFF  (Delay ON Release)

Maintaining power to a secondary circuit when power to the main circuit has been removed.
e.g. Elevators, lifts, generator sets, pumps (overrun) etc.

Example: Showing Fan overrun.

INTERVAL
Limiting the amount of time a machine is allowed to run once it has been started.
e.g. mixers, alarms, security doors, fans, lighting circuits etc.

Example: Showing a limited period alarm sounder.

MULTI ATTEMPT TO START
Allows a preset number of attempts to start a motor. If the motor fails to start in this number of attempts an alarm signal can be sent.

Example:
Showing a starter circuit using an M3MAS timer with a phase monitor to remove the supply when the generator is up to voltage.
